The twelve-sided magnet: a simple way to imagine the zodiac
An analogy for twelve kinds of astrological relationship—not a claim about physical magnetism.

Dear Reader,
How might twelve equal signs help us picture the zodiac?
A normal magnet has two poles. Opposite poles attract; like poles repel. To explain my thinking about astrology, imagine something different: a magnet with twelve sides, each with its own kind of polarity.

Each side represents one zodiac sign. The sides are not simply positive and negative. They express different qualities and relationships. Place a second twelve-sided magnet above the first and the pattern becomes complicated. Some sides might support one another, some might create tension, and some might redirect the whole arrangement.
What the analogy is trying to explain
Astrology contains many interacting layers. A sign, planet, house, aspect, and current transit are not meant to be read independently. The twelve-sided magnet helps me picture why one influence might feel supportive in one relationship and uncomfortable in another.
It also helps explain why a single Sun sign cannot describe a complete person. Every birth chart contains the full circle, arranged in a particular way.
What the analogy does not mean
I'm using a magnet to help you picture relationships between the signs. I haven't shown that the zodiac creates magnetic poles or that a soul can be magnetised. The picture explains my idea without supplying evidence for it.
The next step is definition
If I call a relationship supportive, what would that mean in a real situation? Would a task take less time? Would people reach an agreement more often? I'd need to choose a clear meaning before testing the idea.
For now, try turning the second imaginary magnet. As its position changes, its relationships with the first change too. That's the part I want the picture to explain: in this model, the arrangement matters, and one sign on its own gives us only part of it.
