A transit here means a body’s stay in one of the twelve equal tropical signs. It begins at a sign ingress and ends at the next exit. Retrograde motion can take a planet back into a previous sign, creating another visit. Those visits remain separate, with their own entry and exit dates.
A stay may begin before the selected year or continue into the next one. The timeline keeps the original dates and labels the continuation. These general sky movements are shared by everyone; personal transits compare the sky with an individual birth chart.
