Is astrology a religion, a spiritual practice, or something else?
Astrology can intersect with spirituality without functioning as a religion.

Dear Reader,
Is astrology a religion, or can people use it without joining a faith?
You can read about astrology without being asked to join a faith. Some people connect it with their spiritual beliefs. Others read a horoscope out of curiosity or use it to think about a decision. Those readers may have very different views about God.

Why it can feel religious
When a reading touches on purpose, hardship, or the direction of your life, it may lead you into spiritual questions. Why am I going through this? What am I meant to learn? It's easy to see why someone might connect astrology with their faith.
For some people, astrology is spiritual. For others, it is symbolic, psychological, cultural, or simply interesting. The practice itself does not settle the question of God.
My own framework
My understanding of astrology is connected to a spiritual belief in souls, karma, and conscious divine energy. Teachings associated with the Bhagavad Gita and Vedic traditions have influenced how I think about the body, duty, and the soul's journey.
When I discuss those ideas here, I'm sharing my understanding. Other readers of the same texts may reach different conclusions.
A respectful boundary
You don't have to accept my beliefs about the soul to consider a practical suggestion in a horoscope. You might agree that a difficult conversation deserves patience while remaining unsure about the rest. Take time with the ideas. Read the source when a passage interests you, ask questions, and decide what you think.
