Do the planets cause events—or describe the conditions around them?
A careful look at causation, correspondence, symbolism, and responsibility.

Dear Reader,
If Mars forms a difficult aspect on the day you have an argument, did Mars cause it? Or was something already wrong between the people involved?

That conclusion goes much further than the observation. The aspect can be calculated. The argument can be reported. Finding both on the same day does not, by itself, prove that one caused the other.
Several possible models
Perhaps there is an influence we don't yet understand. Perhaps the reading helps us notice a situation that was already developing. We also need to consider coincidence and the possibility that we remember the matches more clearly than the misses. Seeing a pattern once doesn't tell us which explanation is right.
My working view
I think of the sky as describing conditions rather than issuing commands. In my personal hypothesis, planets may act like lenses within a wider field of energy. A lens changes how light passes through it, but it does not decide what a person will do.
Return to the argument for a moment. Were you tired? Had the same issue come up before? Did either person misunderstand what was said? Those details matter even if you also find the astrological interpretation helpful.
Responsibility remains with us
No transit excuses cruelty, carelessness, or dishonesty. Astrology may encourage someone to watch their impatience. It cannot make them speak harshly.
If the reading makes you notice impatience, use that observation. Pause before answering and deal with the actual disagreement. You can explore why a pattern seems to occur while still taking responsibility for what you say.
